In the medical world today, birth is treated like an emergency. We all know the sitcom trope of a woman’s water breaking before delivering, like, two seconds later. Those of us who have had kids know that’s not the actual case. Real birth is a little slower and a lot less chaotic for most people. Bay Area Community Birth Center was founded so they could treat birth as a natural process in life. They put your comfort and your birth plan at the center of all they do. Their goal is to let you take the power back and make decisions that actually work for you. Their knowledgeable midwives will screen you before taking you on as a patient so they can make sure you will stay safe throughout this approach.
Services
Bay Area Community Birth Center is located inside a remodeled house, so you can have your perfect home birth without any of the prep work. Your care is going to start right at the beginning of your pregnancy. Your midwife will provide you with regular visits so they can be sure your baby is staying healthy. They do everything, including blood pressure checks, baby measurements, and any necessary blood tests. Your first visit will last 1-2 hours so they can get to know you.
Once those contractions start, you will head to the birth center, where you will be able to move around, snack, and get through labor however you need. They offer large beds and birth pools you can use for your delivery. Once your baby arrives, you will have plenty of time to bond before you are released to recover from your own home. They will continue to provide postpartum visits to be sure you’re on the path to recovery!
