I will never forget the moment I saw the strip was pink. The flood of emotions was bigger than I expected. I was surprised at the amount of fear I suddenly had – real fear that this hypothetical baby I’d wanted to create was now a real baby I was actually creating. Which meant it would eventually be out of my body and in the world. And I would have to care for him, provide for him, be his comfort and safe space, his teacher, his friend, his best mom I could be. It was a LOT of emotion to work through. & you know what? That’s ok and normal. It’s ok to go from hopeful and excited to fear and doubt. It’s ok to need a minute, or day, or week, (or longer!) to adjust. It’s the biggest change of your life so far, girlfriend. It is OK to be scared.

I promise you, once that baby is in your arms, the fear won’t go away, but it sure will be clouded with more love than you’ve ever known.
