Neutral Color Palette – Earth and Soft Tones

I know, I know, the whole world is bright and blooming, and all the colorful dresses are hitting the racks. We actually advise our clients to fight the urge in Spring and stick with neutral color outfits for photoshoots. What?! Why?! There’s a good chance your photo location is going to be full of bright colors. If you don’t feel like making your session a Clash of the Neons, we would suggest sticking with soft, earthy tones for the crew. Think browns, rusts, and pale pastels. A little color here and there is totally fine, but when it comes to spring photos, we’d really encourage you to sit back and let nature go crazy with vibrant colors.

Flowy Dresses

Flowy, Bohemian dresses are always a great idea for spring photoshoot outfits. Not only are they super-springy, but they’re also downright practical. Look, mama, we know how much of this photo session you’ll spend trying to wrangle your wild toddlers! While we want your child to feel free to run around and explore, we also want you to be comfortable as you chase them. Plus, they just look good. Flowy dresses are flattering on every body type, and they help you look so put together with minimal effort. They are also super weather-appropriate, no matter what the forecast looks like. You can easily throw on stealthy, warm tights underneath or let it be for the warmer temps.

Floral Prints

Okay, so we talked you out of the really adorable bright pink and purple Spring outfits for your photoshoot. What about floral prints, you ask? We actually love the idea of wearing some of the flowers on your literal sleeve. Obviously, you don’t want big, loud prints, but those cute Boho dresses with the little rust-colored flowers? Chef’s kiss. If you do decide to wear some lightly colored flowers, we would recommend skipping patterns on everyone else’s clothing. That way, your viewers aren’t distracted by a zillion clashing patterns happening in one space. Instead, choose solids in the color from your pattern so things are more cohesive.
